  • To link imagery with crop modeling to:
    • Improve crop yield forecasting at different scales (plot, field, farm, regional)
    • Inform field site management operations
  • Transfer knowledge to foster multidisciplinary collaborations

Overall Site Goal
To make agriculture more profitable and provide environmental benefits by studying how agronomic
management can better utilize biological resources in cropping systems to control pests, provide nitrogen, and
build soil fertility.

Overall Site Goal
These KBS commercial fields were established to provide a larger context for addressing biodiversity and
biogeochemistry questions associated with biofuel production, and are managed to replicate biofuel treatments
at landscape scales. The crops grown are similar to three of the GLBRC main site treatments
(http://lter.kbs.msu.edu/research/long-term-experiments/glbrc-intensive-experiment/).

Goals and deliverables as a JECAM site
To link imagery with crop models to help understand the economic, environmental, and social impacts of
alternative bioenergy cropping systems and the associated biorefining systems.
